Accommodation
This lovely old Landaise farmhouse contains a gite which was designed with 2 bedrooms, since which time we have added access to another 3 bedrooms, so there is an option for accommodating up to 8 people.
The location is not far from Pouillon, about 45 minutes from Biarritz or Pau. The farmhouse is set on an elevated rural site (a landmark in the area as it once formed a Gallo-Roman camp) on a quiet lane with a view towards the Pyrenees.
ADSL broadband internet access is normally available - wired or WiFi. Children are welcome, we have a folding cot available and there's plenty of room to run around outside (but pets are not allowed). All the rooms have underfloor heating and we provide linen and towels.
The 2-bedroom gite is all on one level and contains:
- 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin
- Living room with CD (optional TV and DVD player)
- Kitchen including freezer and dishwasher
- Bathroom with WC, basin, bath and washer/dryer
- Shower room with WC, basin and shower
A short flight of stairs gives access to:
- 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 single

The 5-bedroom option adds:
- 1 double bedroom
- Ensuite bathroom with WC, basin, shower and bath
- Terrace and kitchen including dishwasher
- Grande salle for dancing, pilates, parties, meals
Layout
The area features
- Rolling countryside, ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding
- Historic towns, ports and spas - our favourites are St Jean-de-Luz, Bayonne, Salies-de-Bearn and Bidache
- Local villages (the nearest is less than 10 minutes drive and includes a tourist office) and a series of village fêtes in the summer
- Swimming lake with beach and water slide at Sames
- Water sports near Orthez
- Surfing on the Atlantic Coast
- Golf at Seignosse, Bidart, Anglet, Biarritz and Bassussary

- The Basque Coast, the Basque Country
- St Jean-Pied-de-Port and other places on the pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostella
- San Sebastian and Bilbao (especially the Guggenheim) in Northern Spain
